Estimate a month of restroom supplies for your San Ramon building
Tell the calculator what kind of San Ramon facility you run, how many people work there each day, how many visitors come through and the number of days it opens each month. Next, say how the restrooms are equipped: regular or jumbo toilet paper, folded towels, towel rolls or air dryers, foam or liquid hand soap, and how many waste bins they hold. The result gives an estimate of monthly restroom trips and a low-to-high figure for each item.
How the estimate is put together
The calculator works in two steps. First it estimates how many restroom visits the building sees in a month, from the people on site each day, the visitors who stop in and the days you are open, using building design defaults for restroom use in that type of facility. Then it applies typical paper and soap use per visit, based on hand-washing observation studies and the sizes of common products, to convert those trips into paper, towel and soap quantities plus bin liners.
Your product choices change the answer. Jumbo rolls hold much more tissue than standard ones, so fewer are needed. Choosing hand dryers takes paper towels out of the picture. Foam and liquid soap come in different refill sizes and empty at different rates, and the number of bins sets how many liners a month the restrooms go through.
Why the result is a range
Restroom use depends on habits no formula can watch: how long people stay on site, whether visitors linger, how many wash their hands and how many sheets each person pulls. The range brackets a lighter month and a busier one so you can set reorder points with a cushion. If your building keeps landing near the top, plan your stock from the higher figure and let the reserve shelf absorb the difference.
What drives restroom supply use higher
- Visitor-heavy buildings. Clinics, stores, gyms and worship spaces see many restroom trips from people who aren’t on the payroll, well beyond what the staff count suggests.
- Multifold rather than roll towels. Folded towels come out in loose stacks and people often take several, while roll dispensers hand out a set length.
- Free-pull dispensers. Open tissue holders, unmetered soap pumps and towels stacked on a counter let each visit use more than it needs.
- Events and longer hours. A Saturday open house or extended hours adds trips that a weekday headcount never shows.
Matching dispensers to the right refills is one of the simplest ways to steady the numbers. Our San Ramon janitorial supplies program provides tissue, towels, soap and liners, mounts dispensers that fit them, and keeps a reserve on the closet shelf.
What the calculator leaves out
The estimate skips toilet seat covers and the small bags used in stall sanitary bins, because there is no dependable published usage rate for either item. We size those at the walkthrough from your stall count and past orders. Hand sanitizer and breakroom items sit outside the restroom count too; our breakroom and pantry restocking covers that side of the building.
From estimate to stocked restrooms
The estimate is a planning starting point. A send button sits below the figures and adds them to your quote form here; we then confirm the real figures at a free walkthrough by counting stalls, sinks and dispensers and asking how fast the current stock runs out. You then get a written quote for supplies on their own or alongside cleaning. For the cleaning side, see our commercial restroom deep cleaning and the restroom checklist for facility managers. The janitorial task list builder and the cleaning frequency planner help you plan the rest of the building’s cleaning the same way.
A few useful answers
Common questions
Which facility types can I choose?
Offices, government offices, medical clinics, schools, retail stores, banks and auto dealerships, restaurants, warehouses and manufacturing plants, and gyms, churches and other assembly spaces. Pick the closest match if yours is a mix.
Why does the calculator ask about visitors separately?
Visitors and employees use restrooms at different rates. Counting them apart keeps the estimate closer to how a building that serves the public actually works.
What happens to the result if our restrooms use air dryers?
Paper towels leave the result once air dryers are selected, and the toilet paper, soap and liner lines are still worked out as usual.
Can San Ramon Cleaning provide these restroom products?
Yes. We supply tissue, towels, soap and liners, restock them during cleaning visits, or deliver them on a set schedule if your own team does the cleaning.
Can I send the estimate with my quote request?
Yes. The send button below the figures adds a short summary to your quote form, ready for the walkthrough.
